Airtel comes up with misleading info about Chromebook and shies away from taking responsibility

Right information is something that companies can’t go wrong with. Misleading information will not just become a nuisance for the consumers but they also start spinning a negative opinion about the Telecom operators. I was on a lookout for a good netbook as my Windows machine had become lethargic and sometimes used to just go spoof without saving my work. My main requirement was excellent battery life, lightness and fast boot time.
After lots of research I zeroed in on the HP Chromebook as my work requires me to be online frequently. I have been using Airtel 4G for long time now and since I usually work while I am travelling, the 4G dongle is an extremely essential part of my work kit. I called up the Airtel executives and asked them if the 4G Dongle works with the Chromebook and they were affirmative and also sent me an official link which said the same. The screenshot of the page is attached below.

After much forethought I bought the Chromebook and called up Airtel executives for the settings. They were quiet startled. They took nearly 12 days before they sent a guy to my house. As expected, he did not have a clue on how to configure the dongle into my Chromebook. I had raised a complaint with Airtel and they were extremely callous and as usual didn’t resolve it.

Wrapping it up
I am personally feeling dejected that after spending nearly 30K for a Chromebook it is not serving my purpose as the Airtel 4G dongle is not supported on it currently. The Airtel executives have now come back to me saying 4G dongle cannot be configured on Chromebook and when I had called them before buying my Chromebook they gave me wrong information and even now the official website has the same info updated.
This is the situation with the countries biggest Telecom operator who is least bothered about customers woes and are simply interested in filling webpages with false information. The irony is that I am not using my 4G Dongle due to Airtel mess-up and yet shelling out Rs.1120 as monthly bill. This entire ordeal sets me wondering when Airtel will stop being arrogant and start being customer friendly.
I understand, mistakes do happen but it would have been good to see operators accepting their mistakes and making amends rather than being arrogant and leaving customers in soup.
